Sayang, untuk dua kelas di bawah MotoGP tersebut, balapan hanya akan diikuti masing-masing 10 rider. Rider Aspar Team Gaviota Albert Arenas yang memenangi race perdana di GP Qatar sebelumnya masuk line-up Moto3.
Sementara itu, adik tiri Valentino Rossi, Luca Marini, akan melengkapi line-up pembalap di kelas Moto2.
Format balapan kelas MotoGP nanti berlangsung dalam 13 lap di sirkuit virtual Jerez, Spanyol, pada Senin dini hari (3/5). Jarak tersebut sekitar 50 persen dari total lap pada balapan sesungguhnya. Selanjutnya, kelas intermediate Moto2 dan Moto3 berlangsung dalam 10 lap atau sekitar 35 persen jarak balapan sesungguhnya.
Balapan virtual GP Spanyol tersebut sekaligus menjadi debut game MotoGP20 yang akan menggantikan MotoGP19 yang dipakai pada dua seri sebelumnya. Di kelas MotoGP, dua jagoan Repsol Honda, Marc dan Alex Marquez, dijadwalkan kembali tampil. Alex yang terbukti lebih jago dalam game MotoGP bakal mendapat perlawanan dari andalan Monster Yamaha Maverick Vinales dan Francesco Bagnaia (Pramac Ducati).
Alex, Vinales, dan Pecco ‒panggilan Bagnaia‒ merupakan tiga kompetitor terkuat pada balapan virtual sebelumnya. Pada kesempatan kali ini, Aprilia juga mengirim pembalap uji mereka, Lorenzo Savadori. Jagoan Suzuki Ecstar Alex Rins dan Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha SRT) juga akan meramaikan balapan di depan layar kaca.
Sayang, tidak ada nama Rossi di line-up GP Spanyol kali ini. Hanya Vinales seorang dari tim pabrikan Yamaha yang akan ambil bagian. ’’Ya, dia (Vinales) jauh lebih kompetitif,’’ kata The Doctor ‒julukan Rossi‒ seperti dilansir dari situs resmi MotoGP.
Vinales bahkan nyaris memenangi edisi kedua di sirkuit virtual Red Bull Ring sebelumnya. Dia harus mengakui kepiawaian Pecco ketika disalip pada lap terakhir.
Pecco dan Luca Marini akan menjadi koneksi Rossi pada edisi ketiga balapan virtual tersebut. Pecco dan Marini merupakan anak didik Rossi di VR46 Academy.
Pembalap 41 tahun itu menyebut keduanya sebagai sosok pembalap yang jago saat main game MotoGP. ’’Pecco adalah yang tercepat, tapi saudaraku (Marini) tidak terlalu buruk.
